Recently, I got a text saying a package couldn’t be delivered unless I clicked a link to “update my address,” and for a moment, it felt totally believable. The whole purpose of the scam was to steal personal information, and the message was made to look official with shipping-style wording and a fake tracking link. Once clicked, it led to a website that looked like a real delivery company page, asking for my name, address, and even payment info to “reschedule delivery.” Looking back, there were a few red flags I missed: the URL was slightly off, the message didn’t use the actual company’s name, and I wasn’t even waiting for a package. If you ever get a message like this, double-check the sender, avoid clicking random links, and go straight to the real website or app to see if anything is actually wrong. It’s a small extra step, but it can save you from a huge headache.

I’ve gotten those texts too! They look so real. Thanks for the reminder to double check everything!
Right! I always catch myself believing that they’re real!
This almost happened to me last month. Scammers are getting way too creative.
I agree. I’m glad you caught it first!
So glad you didn’t click the link! I always go straight to the company’s website now just to be safe.
That’s smart! I definitely will be doing that from now on.
Great post! It’s crazy how easy it is to fall for these. Thanks for breaking it down so clearly.
Thank you! I’m just sharing my experience!
